Welcome to Treeside Charter School! A Waldorf-Inspired school for students in Kindergarten - 6th Grade.
At Treeside, children learn academic knowledge and skills (head), they learn why it’s important and how it connects them to their world (heart), and they learn how to apply their knowledge and skills to improve our community (hands).
Treeside is not like other schools. We strive to make our space comfortable and welcoming to students and parents.
The office staff is friendly and happy to help answer any questions!
The hallways are filled with art and color!
You can almost always find an art project going on at Treeside!
Our students are able to read or relax in our library nook...
...Study corners...
...Or out in the garden and orchard!
Kindergarten has their own playground connected to their classrooms. Kindergarteners typically get 3 recesses each day as well as a quiet time in the classroom.
Grades 1st - 6th typically have 2 - 3 recesses during the day on a playground behind the school. There is also a large soccer field and basketball hoops.
Students in all grades have access to our computer lab. Younger classes spend time in Waterford, older grades work on their typing skills.
Students in all grades are able to participate in Specialty classes throughout the week. Those classes are: ART, where they get to paint, paper mache, create with clay, etc.
MUSIC. They are able to experiment with instruments such as bells, ukuleles, drums, etc.
YOGA and MOVEMENT. Our yoga teacher incorporates what they learn in their general class with the poses and creative movements of their yoga class! Our yoga teacher also teaches our students mindfulness and meditation.
and P.E. in our massive gym! We also hold our annual music and dance performances, and other school and community activities in this building.
Each grade level has their own garden boxes to plan, plant and harvest each year. 3rd grade this year planted a salsa garden and made salsa together, and 6th grade planted tomatoes and herbs and made bruchetta.
General and Specialty classes alike enjoy being able to hold lessons out in the beauty around our school.
Some of our classes have chosen class pets! Like this ball python named Striker (she is really a sweetheart!)...
And this hamster named Hamilton. There are also bunnies and fish!
